Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-07 · Applies to the Sweet Learners iPhone and iPad app, sweetlearners.com and the browser games at sweetlearners.com/play
Sweet Learners is a children's app with no account, no ads and no third-party tracking. Nothing your child does in it leaves the device. This policy explains the small amount of data the app and this website do process, and why.
1. Who we are
Sweet Learners is published by Massive Ventures, Inc., 35111 Newark Blvd Ste F, Newark, CA 94560-1258, United States ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the limited data described in sections 4 and 5. Contact: [email protected].
2. The short version
- The app has no account and asks for no name, email, birthdate, photo or location.
- Nothing your child does in the app leaves the device. Taps, favourites and progress are stored on the iPhone or iPad only.
- The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or advertising software.
- Purchases are processed by Apple. We receive Apple's transaction identifiers and the subscription status, nothing else.
- Anything that leads out of the app or to a purchase sits behind a parent gate.
3. What stays on the device
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Play history (which pictures were tapped, which Trivia questions were answered and how) | So the game can vary what it shows and so a parent can see which words are familiar | On the device only, in the app's own storage. Reset it any time from the parent area. |
| Settings (voice volume, chosen categories, parent-area preferences) | To run the app the way you set it | On the device only. |
| Pictures and recordings | So the games work offline | Bundled inside the app. The app downloads nothing while it is used. |
We cannot see any of this. There is no copy anywhere else, and deleting the app deletes it.
4. What is collected, and by whom
This matches the App Store privacy label and the app's privacy manifest.
- Purchase status (trial, subscription, the transaction identifiers Apple issues): processed by Apple so Premium works on your family's devices. We never see payment details.
- Crash reports: sent to us by Apple only if the device owner opted in to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, aggregated and without personal data.
The app does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt, does not use the advertising identifier, and sends no device information to anyone other than Apple.
5. Children's privacy (COPPA and GDPR-K)
Sweet Learners is made for children aged about 1½ to 4 and is listed in the App Store Kids Category. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app is designed so that it cannot: there is no account, no text entry, no camera or microphone use, no chat, no location, no advertising and no third-party analytics. Purchases, links to this website, to YouTube and to Apple's subscription settings sit behind a parent gate (a short arithmetic question meant for an adult). Parents who have questions, or who believe we have received personal information from a child, can write to [email protected]; we will answer within 30 days and delete anything we should not hold.
6. This website and the browser games
- sweetlearners.com uses Plausible Analytics: cookieless, aggregated page-view counts with no personal data, so no cookie banner is needed.
- The browser games at sweetlearners.com/play run entirely in your browser. They store nothing about your child, set no cookies and have no accounts. (They are the same games as the app, in a browser.)
- Links to YouTube open YouTube, whose own privacy policy then applies.
- Hosting: this website is served from our own server in the EU. It keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested file, browser type) for up to 30 days for security.
7. Third parties and what they receive
- Apple (App Store, in-app purchases, crash reports): processes purchases and, if opted in, sends us aggregated crash and usage data. See Apple's privacy policy.
- Plausible Analytics (this website only): aggregated, cookieless page views; based in the EU. See their privacy policy.
No other company receives anything from the app. We do not sell data and never will.
8. How we use data and on what basis
- Providing the app: processed only on the device, to perform the contract with you.
- Purchases (Apple): performance of the contract.
- Crash reports (Apple, opt-in): our legitimate interest in keeping the app working.
- Support email: performance of the contract; we keep your message as long as needed to resolve it and up to 24 months afterwards.
9. Retention
- Play history and settings: on the device until you reset them or delete the app. We hold no copy.
- Purchase records: held by Apple under its terms; we keep transaction identifiers for the life of the subscription plus the period required for accounting.
- Website server logs: 30 days.
10. Your rights and choices
- Reset play history from the parent area inside the app.
- Delete everything: deleting the app removes all play history and settings from the device. There is no account to delete.
- Crash reports: opt out in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
For anything we or Apple hold (support emails, purchase identifiers), email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK you may also complain to your data protection authority.
11. Purchases
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and can be shared with your family through Family Sharing. We receive transaction identifiers and subscription status only, never your payment details. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
12. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the effective date above and show a notice in the parent area of the app before the change takes effect. Earlier versions are available on request.
